About This Course

This basic-level Critical Core Skills course equips learners with the skills and mindset to foster an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative workplace. It introduces strategies to recognize and address unconscious bias, appreciate diversity, and apply inclusive practices. Learners engage in self-reflection, group activities, and practical case studies, while exploring how AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini’s Nano Banana can support fair and inclusive communication. By the end of the course, learners will be able to demonstrate tolerance, use inclusive language, and actively contribute to a positive workplace culture, strengthening teamwork, engagement, and career readiness in any professional setting.

What you will learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Learners will be able to identify and analyse unconscious bias in workplace interactions by recognising common bias types such as gender, racial, affinity, and confirmation bias, and apply strategies to reduce bias in decision-making and communication.

Learners will be able to demonstrate and apply respectful and culturally sensitive behaviours when collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to build inclusive and effective working relationships.

Learners will be able to apply inclusive workplace communication practices by using fair, equitable, and culturally appropriate language aligned with organisational diversity and inclusion values.

Learners will be able to evaluate and apply inclusive language techniques in verbal and written communication, including the use of gender-neutral terms, plain language, and respectful phrasing to improve workplace clarity and inclusivity.

Learners will be able to utilise AI-enabled tools such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini’s Nano Banana to support inclusive communication by reviewing workplace messages for bias, improving tone and clarity, and generating more inclusive content for emails, policies, and internal communications.

Learners will be able to contribute to an inclusive workplace culture by participating in collaborative discussions, case-based scenarios, and reflective activities that strengthen empathy, cultural awareness, and teamwork across diverse workplace settings.
