This 1-day course provides essential training in cleaning and maintaining public amenities. Learners will acquire knowledge of suitable removal methods for diverse amenities and proper usage of PPE during cleaning activities. Additionally, they will become skilled in using appropriate tools, adhering to organization SOPs, and displaying safety signage during cleaning procedures. Emphasis will be placed on effective waste management, timely supply replenishment, and prompt reporting of incidents to the relevant personnel.

This course is also one of the approved courses under the Progressive Wage Model’s (PWM) training requirements for the Cleaning industry.

What you will learn

At the end of the course, learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge / skills on the following:

• Identify different removal methods that are suitable to different public amenities.
• Determine when to use and not use hoses and sprinklers.
• Wear the PPE correctly before cleaning affected public areas.
• Use appropriate tools, equipment, and suitable supplies to clean public amenities.
• Display the relevant safety signage in the surrounding area during cleaning activities.
• Apply different cleaning methods that are suitable to various public amenities per organisation’s SOP.
• Secure collected waste in waste-holding areas in a safe manner.
• Replenish consumables required for cleaning in a timely manner.
• Report to the appropriate personnel when work cannot be carried out and/or incidents occur.
