This advanced-level Critical Core Skills course equips learners with the skills to adopt a culture of continuous learning by setting purposeful goals, creating structured learning plans, and evaluating learning effectiveness to drive better team performance. Learners will develop strategies to identify and overcome learning barriers, leverage organisational networks for knowledge sharing, and champion mentoring programs to promote a sustainable learning culture. By mastering these skills, learners will enhance team development, improve adaptability to emerging trends, and foster a more innovative and high-performing work environment.

What you will learn

This course empowers learners to adopt a culture of continuous learning by setting goals, devising plans, implementing learning initiatives, addressing barriers, and evaluating the impact of learning to enhance team performance. Learners will be able to:

  • Set Goals and Outcomes for Continuous Learning – Identify purposeful learning goals to enhance team performance, apply self-reflection to identify learning opportunities from emerging trends, and sustain a culture of continuous learning through effective development practices.
  • Devise and Implement Learning Plans – Develop a learning plan with clear strategies and metrics to measure progress, conduct Training Needs Analysis, tailor learning approaches for diverse needs, and utilize organisational networks for cross-team knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Address Learning Barriers and Facilitate Organisational Learning – Identify and address learning challenges, provide alternative approaches to learning barriers, and spearhead mentoring programs to foster a culture of continuous learning across the organisation.
  • Evaluate and Improve Learning Effectiveness – Establish criteria to measure learning impact, monitor the effectiveness of learning strategies, and recommend improvements by assessing emerging trends and adapting learning approaches to improve work performance.

Key skills covered include goal setting, learning strategy development, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and performance evaluation. Learners will develop proficiency in conducting Training Needs Analysis, managing knowledge-sharing networks, and applying evaluation methods like Kirkpatrick’s model to enhance learning outcomes.

Minimum Requirement

  • Education: Higher NITEC; GCE O; GCE A; Diploma graduates
  • Literacy/Numeracy level: WPLN Level 5
