This basic-level Critical Core Skills course helps learners develop practical self-care and emotional regulation strategies to maintain focus and resilience during challenging situations and changing work environments. Learners will explore methods to regulate emotions, adapt to new work requirements, and identify skills to stay effective and employable. The course covers self-assessment, problem-solving, and adapting to feedback, helping learners build greater emotional awareness and improve their ability to manage stress and change effectively. By strengthening emotional intelligence and adaptability, learners will enhance their overall work performance and personal well-being.

What you will learn

This course equips learners with the strategies and techniques needed to strengthen emotional intelligence, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to remain effective in dynamic work environments. Learners will be able to:

Apply Self-Care Strategies – Use emotional regulation and self-awareness techniques to maintain focus and resilience during changing work requirements and challenging situations.
Adapt to New Challenges – Adjust work processes and personal responses to manage evolving work environments effectively.
Enhance Problem-Solving and Decision-Making – Apply ideation, experimentation, and problem-solving techniques to respond to workplace changes.
Monitor and Improve Work Performance – Identify development areas and measure the impact of self-care and work strategies to enhance personal and professional growth.
Develop Emotional Awareness and Adaptability – Strengthen emotional intelligence and adaptability to remain effective and employable in dynamic work settings.

Key skills covered include emotional regulation, self-awareness, problem-solving, and adaptability. Learners will apply ideation and experimentation techniques, self-assessment tools, and impact measurement strategies.

Minimum Requirement

Education level is likely to be GCE ‘N’ Credit (at least C6) in English or WPLN score of Level 3 for Reading, Speaking, Listening, Writing and Numeracy, or
With at least a lower secondary education or its equivalent.
