This beginner to intermediate level course introduces Generative AI (GenAI) as a practical productivity tool for work and daily tasks. Learners develop the ability to write clear, structured instructions so AI produces accurate, consistent, and useful outputs. The course moves beyond casual trial-and-error use, building more deliberate and repeatable ways of working with AI while introducing key prompt engineering concepts in simple, non-technical language.

What you will learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to: 

1. Explain how the quality of prompts affects Generative AI outputs by describing how clarity, structure, and instruction detail influence response accuracy, consistency, and reliability in both daily and workplace tasks. 
2. Apply structured prompt components and simple micro-frameworks to produce clearer and more consistent Generative AI outputs, including defining task intent, providing context, setting constraints, and specifying output format. 
3. Use a simplified C.R.E.A.T.E. (Character, Request, Examples, Adjustments, Tone, Evaluation) framework to script prompts for common tasks such as drafting content, summarising information, and planning activities in everyday and professional contexts. 
4. Review and refine Generative AI outputs responsibly by checking for factual accuracy, potential bias, appropriate tone, and safe use of information before applying the output in real-life or workplace situations.
