This Critical Course Skills course is designed at the intermediate level learners who want to strengthen their ability to make strategic, data-informed decisions using proven organizational frameworks. Learners will develop skills in evaluating and prioritizing decisions, analyzing stakeholder needs, assessing risks, and crafting effective implementation plans. While the focus remains on human judgment and collaborative techniques, AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and NotebookLM are introduced to support decision-making by offering simulations, structured feedback, and insights. By applying group decision-making strategies and understanding stakeholder dynamics, learners will be equipped to improve work performance and contribute meaningfully to organizational success. This course is relevant across industries and supports career advancement through enhanced strategic and analytical capabilities.
What you will learn
This course equips intermediate learners with the ability to apply structured decision-making techniques to improve workplace performance and drive organizational success. By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Evaluate and Prioritize Decisions – Describe the organisation’s policies/practices in evaluating and prioritising decisions affecting the department
- Analyze Information for Decision-Making – Select relevant information to feed into the decision-making process.
- Apply Structured Decision-Making – Follow a structured decision-making process per the organisation’s SOP for effective solutioning.
- Develop and Implement Solutions – Draft a plan to implement the proposed solution.
- Assess Impact of Decisions – Analyse the impact/s of the solution to the organisation using pre-determined criteria.
- Recommend Improvements – Compare results against organisational goals and recommend improvements in the decision-making
Learners will gain technical proficiency in using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and NotebookLM to simulate decision paths, visualize trade-offs, and refine solutions.
