This intermediate-level course helps educators integrate generative AI into instructional design using proven frameworks such as ADDIE and the 5Es. Learners will explore how AI supports learner analysis, needs assessment, content creation, and assessment design while maintaining sound pedagogy. The course blends hands-on activities with real educational scenarios, including creating learner personas, designing SMART objectives, generating AI-powered content, and developing assessments using AI tools. Educators will also learn responsible AI practices, covering ethics, data privacy, and human-in-the-loop decision-making. By the end, learners will be able to design AI-enhanced learning experiences that improve efficiency, engagement, and learning outcomes.

What you will learn

This course is designed to help educators integrate generative AI into instructional design for more efficient and engaging learning development. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Apply the ADDIE framework with AI support across the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages.
2. Use AI tools to conduct learner analysis, generate learner personas, identify learning needs, and review existing content.
3. Design learning experiences using AI to create learning objectives, instructional strategies, assessment plans, and structured lesson flows aligned with ADDIE and the 5Es.
4. Develop AI-assisted learning materials such as hooks, scenarios, case studies, explanations, multimedia content, quizzes, and rubrics.
5. Integrate AI-generated content into learning platforms, use AI tools to support learners, and apply adaptive learning features to personalise learning experiences.
