Course Description

Acquire supervisory skills and knowledge in implementing work improvement processes in the workplace and making incremental improvements in processes that produce products and services for customers.

Learning Outcomes

1. Form work teams

  • Identify the nature of teams to be formed in accordance with the organisational goals and objectives.
  • Identify the skills and knowledge of team members to achieve effective teamwork.
  • Design an effective team to achieve the organisational goals and objectives.
  • Develop team capabilities to identify, analyse, and solve work-related problems.
  • Apply team goal setting techniques to construct a goal-orientated work team.
  • Facilitate work teams to identify goals that are aligned to organisational goals and objectives.
  • Apply appropriate techniques to resolve issues that arise during the formation of teams.

2. Lead workplace team activities

  • Manage the team activities to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Establish team performance management system to motivate and sustain effective teams.
  • Plan suitable activities to develop synergy in teamwork
  • Maintain communication process to prevent breakdown of team communication.
  • Apply effective leadership skills leading to successful teams.
  • Apply conflict resolution techniques to resolve conflict between individuals and in the team.

3.Maintain team performance

  • Review team performance against goals and objectives in accordance with established organisational procedures.
  • Engage regular constructive feedback with supervisors and team member to maintain good communication.
  • Identify and address problems relating to team performance.
  • Develop team improvement processes in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Record and present documentation relating to team activities/performances to management in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Carry out follow-up actions for work team performance and achievement of goals in accordance with established organisational procedures.
